North Sound Technology is Mark DeVore's company for independent technology advice and practical software. The advisory work is for small-organization owners facing decisions that are too large — or too unclear — to approve on trust alone. His experience spans technology risk consulting, founding and operating an IT services company in Western Washington, and software he builds and operates today.

Before running an IT services company, Mark worked in technology risk consulting at Arthur Andersen and Protiviti. The work was helping organizations understand technology decisions, security, and project risk, then explaining those findings to business leadership.

2006–2019
DeVore Networks
Mark founded and operated DeVore Networks in Western Washington from 2006 to 2019. The company delivered technology services to business customers, so a recommendation also had to be something the business could implement, maintain, and support.

Today
Advisory work and software
Advisory engagements are independent advice for a specific decision: proposal reviews, assessments, and planning.
Mark also builds and operates the company's software. PaddleChamps is court reservations and facility management software for small clubs and communities. TamerMap is a discovery platform for finding Pokémon retailers and kiosks, with services that help shops connect with customers. Building them keeps the same questions in practice: who a system is for, what it should refuse to promise, and what still has to work after launch.
