When a second opinion may help
A proposed cloud migration
Moving email, files, or line-of-business systems to the cloud changes cost, access, and how the business recovers from a problem. An outside review can separate the migration itself from optional add-ons.
A new managed IT services agreement
You are looking at a new support contract, a renewal, or a change of provider. The question is what the agreement actually covers and whether it matches how the business works.
Competing technology proposals
Two or more vendors have recommended different products or scopes. You need a way to compare them against the same business requirements, not against each vendor's preferred design.
If the requirements are not settled and a proposal has not been written,technology planning is the earlier step.

What will I receive?
The deliverable is agreed beforehand. The review is only as specific as the information available, and it says so when a firm conclusion is not possible yet.

Illustrative example
Reviewing a network upgrade.
- Decision
- Approve a smaller replacement, not the full quote.
- Recommendation
- Replace the firewall whose vendor support has ended. Keep the switches that still receive updates and still fit the office.
- Reasons
- The firewall no longer gets fixes. The switches are current, and the proposal does not describe a capacity problem they fail to meet.
- Open vendor questions
- What does the annual license include? Who configures the replacement, and what happens if the cutover has to be reversed?
- Cost considerations
- The firewall is a one-time purchase plus a continuing license. Replacing the switches adds cost without a stated operational need.
- Next steps
- Ask for a revised quote limited to the firewall, then decide.

Your provider
Will this interfere with my existing IT provider?
North Sound Technology's role is to provide independent advice to the business owner. The objective is not automatically to replace the existing provider or contradict its recommendations.
Existing providers may have legitimate reasons for their preferred products, configurations, and support arrangements. An independent review helps the owner understand those considerations and evaluate the proposed solution against the business's needs.
